SUMMARY
Incredibly rare, 750cc Bonneville T120RT USA Competition model.
DESCRIPTION
- Shipped new to Baltimore in April 1970
- Modified to compete in the USA AMA 750cc Class Series on arrival
- The East Coast distributor, Tricor, came up with a 750cc conversion kit that replaced the stock 650cc barrels
- 200 bikes needed to be converted to satisfy the homologation requirements, 204 were produced
- Tricor replaced the original cylinders with the 750cc cast iron cylinder blocks whilst the bikes were still in the crates and then added the "T" to the engine but not the frame
- The customer was also made to sign a disclaimer
- The Triumph factory eventually found out and dismissed the culprits responsible
- This example is a matching numbers machine restored to its highly original condition by marque specialist Terry MacDonald
- Note correct rear lights, side reflectors, Lucas horns and cast iron cylinder head with central Allen Key
- In good running order and UK registered
- Complete with verification letters from Triumph Owners Club and the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame
